Project Information
The Great Rivers Greenway District providing funding for the renovation of an abandoned railroad trestle near Branch Street in the City of St. Louis.
Completed in 2008, the 1/2 mile segment links the McKinley Bridge Bikeway to the North Riverfront Trail.
Future trail extensions in Illinois to connect to the Confluence Bikeway are being planned by the Metro East Park and Recreation District. In Missouri, Great Rivers Greenway District is working on the next phase of the railroad alignment that continues south towards Downtown St. Louis. More information on this portion of the project can be found under A6 called "The Trestle."
Status:
The portion of the Trestle from the McKinley Bridge Bikeway to Branch Street was completed in June 2008.
